Abstract:
We propose a method for determining the coordinates and parameters of moving objects, namely, the path and speed. The method is based on the determination of the relative size of the object image on the TV camera screen using the object image size on the screen and the lateral image shift with respect to the screen central axis. The algorithm for calculating the moving object coordinates, path, and speed is developed for use of stationary or rotary TV cameras. The results of the experimental verification of the method efficiency are discussed.

Key words:
distance to object, coordinates, object path and speed, image size, proportionality factor, TV-camera field of view.
