Abstract:
A method based on the Green's theorem and the Graph’s addition theorem is used to construct a solution of 2D problem on lateral diffraction of a light beam on a microstructured fiber. It is shown that the solution can be used for computing the angular distribution of the far field intensity in the case of three-dimensional beam diffraction on a microstructed fiber. Diffraction fields appeared at illumination of microstructured fibers by TE and TM polarized Gaussian beams are analyzed.

Key words:
diffraction of light on a microstructured fiber, cylindrical functions, Gaussian beam, far field.
