Abstract:
The parameters (the resonant wavelength, amplitude and damping coefficients) of Sellmeyer model for more accurate matching (rms deviation of 6 %) of the model curves of refractive and absorption indexes with a cloud of experimental values of the dispersion curves of a silica glass are found in the range from 20 nm to 100 microns. Comparison of the results of simulation of the Gaussian (in space and in time) pulse durations of 3.35 fs in planar waveguides from silica glass, which dispersion is described by the standard and refined Sellmeyer models, showed a significant effect of the permittivity on the pulse: high absorption (10 times more) and retardation (0.35μm) to 7 μm.

Key words:
silica glass, dispersion model, refractive index, permittivity, absorption index, ultrashort pulse.
