Abstract:
For planar stripe-geometry GaAlAs/GaAs heterostructure lasers, astigmatism, wavefronts and directivity diagrams of radiation are studied and their dependence on pumping current is investigated by means of a modified Michelson interferometer. Experimental data are compared with those calculated using a model with smooth variation of the complex dielectric permeability in the form of an Epstein layer.
